Shalee has started 10 of the 24 games she has played in for the Atlanta Dream averaging 19 minutes a game. As a point guard she is averaging 3.1 assists per game and just over 2.5 points per game.

I remember keeping score at the Wildcat baseball games back in the 70′s. The score board used metal sheets with the numbers painted on them. You had to manually post runs…Myself and a friend would sneek into the games, then climb the scoreboard and run the score board. Tyrone Hudson signed some autographs for us. We were kings.

Gregory to Start ?

There is some thought that USF transfer Grant Gregory has a chance to come in and earn the starting quarterback job this season. Gregory was granted a sixth year of eligibility and that experience plays greatly in his favor. While some are saying he is what Snyder looks for in a quarterback I don’t know that I am all that impressed with his numbers. His QB rating was 165 with limited duty in 2007 but that certainly does mean a lot at this point. He has fairly good size at 6’1″ and 210 pounds or so with plenty of athleticism. I think he could start but, call me crazy , I think he could certainly start at safety. He played there in high school and switched to safety in 2006 at USF to take advantage of his skills. There is no question the guy is an athlete and can play there. If quarterback does not work out he will be doing more than just carrying the clip board.

Freeman Has a Chance to Start?

If you belive what Raheem Morris is saying a, Josh Freeman has a shot at earning the starting job in Tampa. Josh did well in June workouts and Morris has said the starting job is wide open. Morris added that Josh is going out to compete and that the team was not going to hold him back. The orginal thinking was Freeman was the long term answer and that the contest for this years starting quarternback job would be between vetrans Luke McCown and Byron Leftwich. If Josh can keep making progress, he might see the field earlier than expected.

Josh Freeman has reportedly signed a five year deal with the Buccaneers. This will put him on the field for the teams first practice. Signing his name on the contract was a great move on Freeman’s part. It shows that he is putting his desire to play football first over money. Not that the money was not nice….26 million over five years with incentives that could drive it higher. I met Freeman the August before his freshman year started… He introduced himself as the next starting quarterback. From freshman with confidence to millionaire! Way to go Josh…

Lady Cat’s Basketball Camp Rocks!

If you have a daughter who plays basketball and loves the Lady Cat’s, Deb Patterson’s Basketball Day Camp is something she would love.

This year’s camp was a terrific experience for those who attended. The instruction and drills were first rate. This years campers had the opportunity to practice at Bramlage Coliseum, talk about a rush. There were many current and past Lady Cat players in attendance lending their knowledge and skills to teaching the the girls. Besides running them thru drills the Lady Cats took the time to joke around and get to know the campers. The players gave plenty of time to the girls for autographs and personal photos too! The camp was not just basketball as those in attendance went bowling and went swimming. Lunch was great as it was provided by local vendors each day or at the Student Union. Transportation for the girls was provided by the Lady Cats. How cool is it to be driven around by a Lady Cat!

If your daughter attended this year’s camp you got to hear all the great stories. If you althlete did not get the chance to attend, plan on it for next year. Your daughter will have an incredible time and learn skills she can take with her to improve her game. Lady Cat Basketball Day Camp Rocks!
